The Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Kim Byungjoon) will launch the "Everyone's Open Call," an incubator-style grant program designed to support the sustainable growth of small-scale organizations and groups, starting on the 26th.
The "Everyone's Open Call" program was planned through a joint initiative between the 10·27 Korean Church United Worship and the Fruit of Love, to support small organizations and groups that have quietly dedicated themselves in challenging social welfare environments. The program aims to strengthen the administrative and operational capabilities of these small organizations and groups that have supported vulnerable populations in local communities, and provides customized programs to help establish a stable organizational foundation.
This project is funded by donations collected during the "10·27 Korean Church United Worship" held on October 27 last year in the areas around Gwanghwamun and Seoul City Hall. The total project scale amounts to 3 billion KRW per year for three years, totaling 9 billion KRW, and is implemented through the distribution partner, the Work Together Foundation.
Eligible applicants include social welfare corporations and nonprofit private organizations with four or fewer full-time employees, or with a total annual income of less than 200 million KRW based on the previous year’s financial statements. Selected organizations will receive up to 50 million KRW per year, and up to 150 million KRW over three years, depending on the evaluation.
This open call adopts an innovative, field-centered evaluation method that has not been previously attempted, moving away from the traditional document-based approach. Organizations will be evaluated based on their vision and growth potential through on-site assessments and capacity-building camps.
The 60 organizations that pass the first round of screening will receive support through common programs aimed at strengthening overall organizational capabilities, including organizational diagnosis, a two-day capacity-building camp, expert coaching on business plans and presentation materials, and promotional support. Up to 40 organizations selected in the final evaluation will receive project funding, as well as additional support such as a three-day intensive capacity-building healing camp, impact measurement, and performance sharing sessions to facilitate practical project implementation and growth. Organizations demonstrating outstanding results will also have the opportunity to receive continuous support for up to three years.
Kim Byungjoon, Chairman of the Fruit of Love, stated, "We hope to see improvements in the welfare of vulnerable groups in local communities by strengthening the capabilities of small organizations," and added, "We will always do our best to bring about positive change in our society."
Applications for the grant program can be submitted from the 26th until July 11 through the Work Together Foundation’s Flag Up website and via email.
