Gyeonggi Province to Provide 10.5 Billion Won for Smart Factory Construction... 151 Companies Selected

Gyeonggi Province is launching support for the establishment of smart factories.


On May 27, Gyeonggi Provincial Government announced that it has selected 151 companies as beneficiaries of the "Gyeonggi-Style Smart Factory Construction and Consulting Support Project" and will begin providing support for smart factory construction starting in June.


The Gyeonggi-Style Smart Factory Construction and Consulting Support Project is designed to improve productivity and strengthen the competitiveness of manufacturing companies struggling with declining productivity. It is a comprehensive initiative that provides support ranging from consulting for smart factory establishment to the training of specialized personnel.


This year, Gyeonggi Province secured a budget of 10.5 billion won for this project, a 50% increase compared to the previous year. The number of supported companies has also nearly doubled, from 77 last year to 151 this year.

The areas of support include: ▲equipment and solution adoption (131 companies), ▲special purposes such as safety, energy, carbon neutrality, and security, as well as manufacturing data utilization (5 companies), and ▲robot-based solutions (15 companies).


Companies selected in each category will receive support ranging from 30 million won to a maximum of 80 million won per project to establish smart factories and promote manufacturing innovation based on automation and data.


Bae Youngsang, Director of Digital Innovation at Gyeonggi Provincial Government, stated, "The demand for automation using AI and robots in manufacturing sites is rapidly increasing," and added, "In 2026, we will further expand support projects for robot- and AI-based smart factories, making Gyeonggi Province a leader in digital manufacturing innovation."
