A total of 16 buses deployed across 4 routes
Yongsan District in Seoul will urgently deploy temporary free shuttle buses on May 28 in preparation for the complete suspension of city bus services. The temporary buses will be 45-seat chartered buses, with a total of 16 buses?4 assigned to each of 4 designated areas. The operating hours will be from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekdays, and from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekends, with intervals between buses ranging from 20 to 30 minutes.
The bus numbers and routes are as follows: ▲Bus No. 1, Sookmyung Women's Univ. Station Exit 7~Namyeong Station~Hyochang Park Station~Sookmyung Women's Univ. Station (5.7km); ▲Bus No. 2, Namyeong Station~Hyochang Park Station~Sinyongsan Station~Samgakji Station~Namyeong Station (7.1km); ▲Bus No. 3, Plaza in front of Yongsan Station~Samgakji Station~Ichon Station~Seobinggo Station~Yongsan Station (10km); ▲Bus No. 4, Itaewon Station~Hangangjin Station~Hannam Station~Itaewon Station (4.7km).
Detailed information such as exact operating times and temporary bus stop locations will be provided in real time via the website, blog, AlrimTalk, and text messages using a QR code. Announcements will be broadcast in major apartment complexes, and notices and route information will be posted at bus stops to minimize confusion among residents.
The currently operating Yongsan cultural facility shuttle buses will also increase their service frequency. The usual operating hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. will be extended by one additional trip each in the morning and afternoon, running from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Inquiries regarding the temporary free shuttle buses can be directed to the Transportation Administration Division (02-2199-7740).
Regarding the bus strike, Park Heeyoung, head of Yongsan District, stated, "We have prioritized protecting residents' rights to commute and move freely by arranging free shuttle bus services," and urged, "Please use walking or bicycles for short distances, and actively participate in carpooling, as well as using village buses and the subway."
