The project area covers the water supply zones of Geochang-eup (Gangbuk), Wicheon-myeon, and Ungyang-myeon. From this year until 2030, over a period of six years, the county will comprehensively renovate the water supply infrastructure, focusing on pipeline maintenance, GIS establishment, leak detection and restoration, and replacement of old water distribution and supply pipes.

Upon completion of this project, which will invest a total of 20.7 billion won, it is expected that healthier and cleaner high-quality tap water will be supplied. In addition, the water flow rate is projected to improve by about 10 percent, with an anticipated annual reduction of approximately 380,000 tons of water leakage and a decrease in production costs by 1.6 billion won.

County Governor Koo Inmo stated, "Through this project, we will systematically renovate the aging water supply infrastructure in the region and enhance the stability and efficiency of tap water supply." He added, "We will strive to improve the efficiency of water supply management and establish a system that ensures all residents of Geochang County can trust and drink the tap water."
