The Damyang Scholarship Foundation (Chairman: Jeong Cheolwon, Governor of Damyang County) announced on May 26 that Damyang Juksun Agricultural Cooperative Corporation (CEO: Park Youngsoo) and Damyang Hyanggyo (Head: Kim Seongtaek) have recently delivered scholarships one after another to foster local talent.
Damyang Juksun Agricultural Cooperative Corporation, located in Damyang-eup, is dedicated to increasing farmers' income and revitalizing the bamboo industry through the development and processing of products using bamboo shoots. Since 2018, the corporation has donated a total of 10 million won in scholarships, consistently contributing to the cultivation of local talent.
Park Youngsoo, CEO, stated, "I hope students will grow into outstanding individuals who can contribute to the local community," and added, "We will continue to participate in scholarship programs in the future."
Damyang Hyanggyo, designated as a Jeollanam-do cultural asset in 1986, is committed to preserving traditional culture and ethical values, and also provides etiquette education and youth character development activities for local students. To date, it has donated a cumulative total of 4 million won in scholarships.
Jo Gongmo, President of the Confucian Association, said, "I am pleased to deliver these scholarships together with fellow Confucian scholars, with heartfelt sincerity," and added, "I hope this will serve as a foundation for Damyang's youth to grow up upright."
