AI Technology Company NEXTLab Establishes Office in Jakarta NextLab Jakarta Office Opening Ceremony

Artificial intelligence (AI) technology company NEXTLab has established a local office in Jakarta, Indonesia last month as its first step toward entering the global market, and has begun targeting the Indonesian market.

NEXTLab has built its technological capabilities by supplying AI-based communication and media service quality management solutions to major telecommunications companies such as KT, SK Broadband, and LG Uplus. Since 2018, the company has expanded its business by providing technology solutions necessary for realizing smart factories through collaboration with Poongkuk Industries, a manufacturer of fashion and sports products. In particular, its AI and X-ray equipment-based foreign substance detection product has dramatically reduced the defective product shipment rate at Poongkuk Industries, earning recognition for its performance from Japanese buyers. This year, NEXTLab secured a digital twin implementation project aimed at improving productivity at Poongkuk Industries' Indonesian factory, and also acquired a local Indonesian telecommunications operator as a client.

Through its Jakarta office, NEXTLab plans to focus on supplying generative AI-based solutions tailored to the Indonesian market. Specifically, the company will start by providing production management solutions optimized for local manufacturers and communication service quality management solutions optimized for local telecommunications operators, with plans to expand into various other industries.

Kim Sungmin, CEO of NEXTLab, stated, "Generative AI has become deeply embedded in our daily lives, but in industrial sectors that require background knowledge, its use is just beginning." He added, "NEXTLab takes pride in its deep understanding of these industries, having provided quality management solutions to telecommunications and manufacturing companies for many years, and we are fully prepared to deliver generative AI solutions that are truly useful in these sectors." Kim also expressed his ambition by saying, "We will introduce generative AI solutions optimized for the rapidly growing Indonesian and ASEAN markets."
