To Be Held on May 30 in the Small Auditorium of Building 4
Honam University announced on May 26 that it will host a special lecture for new and current students of the College of Health Sciences, inviting Dr. Oh Eunyoung, a specialist in psychiatry.
The upcoming lecture, titled "Caring for the Mind: For Prospective Health Professionals," will be held on May 30 in the small auditorium of Building 4 at Honam University. The 120-minute session will focus on "Making the Right Career Choices and Building Healthy Self-Esteem." The lecture aims to help students majoring in health-related fields address emotional confusion and identity issues arising from academic and career concerns.
Dr. Oh plans to emphasize the significance of anxiety and self-doubt related to career paths, as well as the importance of maintaining self-esteem for healthcare professionals. She will engage participants through vivid and relatable communication, fostering deep empathy. Following Dr. Oh's lecture, the event will continue with an on-site Q&A session addressing questions from the audience.
Renowned as the most trusted public figure in the field of mental health, Dr. Oh has provided in-depth solutions to mental health issues affecting not only children and adolescents but also adults, through numerous television programs such as "My Golden Kids" and "Oh Eunyoung Report: Marriage Hell," as well as lectures and publications.
Yoo Hyesook, Dean of the College of Health Sciences at Honam University, stated, "As healthcare professionals are responsible for the health and lives of others, it is especially important for them to nurture their own inner well-being. I believe this special lecture will be a valuable opportunity for students to build psychological resilience and confidence in their identity."
Meanwhile, last year Honam University also invited Dr. Oh for a lecture organized by the Department of Companion Animal Industry, covering topics such as "Career Choices and Self-Esteem" and "Companion Animals and Mental Health."
