"We urge you to make a decisive choice that will lead to a conservative victory through candidate unification."
Members of the Gyeongnam Provincial Assembly affiliated with the People Power Party have called on Lee Junseok, the presidential candidate of the Reform New Party, to unify the conservative camp's candidates.
On May 26, the assembly members held a press conference at the entrance of the provincial assembly, requesting, "Please make a critical decision to protect the values of liberal democracy and secure victory for the conservative camp."

They emphasized, "The Republic of Korea is now standing at a crucial crossroads," and added, "It is time to unite all conservative forces to uphold the values of liberal democracy."
They further pointed out, "Lee Junseok's declaration to complete the race raises serious concerns that it will deepen divisions within the conservative camp and undermine the opportunity to regain power." They continued, "This is not merely a matter of personal political decision or challenge, but rather a choice that could result in a defeat for the entire conservative bloc and threaten the future of the nation."
The assembly members appealed, "What the people desire now is a victorious transformation and a conservative path that is walked together, not alone." They added, "We hope that candidate Lee will choose the higher values of protecting freedom, the people, and the nation over personal political justification."
