Wela Releases Lee Woo-hyuk's "Toemarok" as Audiobook

Capturing the Originality and Thrill of the Source Material

On May 26, integrated reading platform Wela announced the release of the audiobook series for the bestselling genre novel "Toemarok: Domestic Edition" by author Lee Woo-hyuk.

Through this audiobook series, Wela plans to sequentially release the entire "Toemarok" series, starting with "Toemarok: Domestic Edition 1." Notably, this series features some of the top voice actors in Korea, maximizing the immersive experience of the audiobooks.

"Toemarok" has once again captured public attention this year, having been adapted into a 3D animated film earlier in the year. The original novel "Toemarok" by Lee Woo-hyuk, which is credited with sparking the boom in Korean genre fiction, has maintained a dedicated fan base for a long time.

Spanning genres such as religion, martial arts, and mythology, "Toemarok" is composed of supernatural phenomena and rich episodes. Based on extensive research, the series is known for its well-structured storytelling and has enjoyed enduring support from its readers.

The narration is provided by voice actor Kim Hyungyun, who has previously narrated popular Wela audiobook novels such as "The Devotion of Suspect X" and "The House Without a Child." The cast also includes top-tier voice actors such as Ahn Janghyuk, known for voicing 'Thor' in the Marvel Cinematic Universe; Kim Myungjun, who voiced 'Kayn' in "League of Legends"; Kim Bona, the voice of 'Nilah' in "League of Legends"; and Jo Kyungi, well known for voicing 'Hachuping' in "Love Hachuping."

In addition, skilled professional voice actors such as Oroa, Lee Kyuchang, Lee Sangjun, Lee Juseung, and Jo Minsu have joined the project, further raising fans' expectations.

Meanwhile, to commemorate the release of "Toemarok: Domestic Edition 1" audiobook, an event will be held. By posting one of the keywords?'cross,' 'Wolhyang Sword,' 'Aeyeommyeongwang,' or 'fan,' which are iconic items from "Toemarok"?in the comment section of the Wela event page, participants can check their own "Toemarok talisman." The event runs from May 26 to June 8. Prizes will be awarded to selected participants through a drawing.
