On May 26, Gwangju City announced that it will operate the "2025 Korea Summer Accommodation Sale Festa - Regional Special Exhibition" together with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism from June 5 to July 17, 2025.

This event has been organized to provide travelers visiting Gwangju with affordable accommodation benefits and a rich tourism experience, in celebration of the "2025 Visit Gwangju Year" and the summer vacation season.

Discount coupons will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis for three days from May 28 to 30 through 22 online sales channels, including KakaoTalk, Yanolja, 11st, Gmarket, HanaTour, and Yellow Balloon.

Coupons can be issued and reservations can be made daily from 10 a.m. until 7 a.m. the following day, and payment must be completed within this period. The issued coupons can only be used for accommodation products with check-in dates between June 5 and July 17. A discount of 50,000 won will be provided for accommodation reservations of 70,000 won or more.

During the Accommodation Sale Festa period, the city plans to offer various festivals, exhibitions, and sports events to provide entertainment for travelers. The "Street Culture Festa," a dance battle competition featuring street dancers from around the world, will be held from June 5 to 8 at the National Asia Culture Center and the 5·18 Democracy Square.

"Letsfloppy 3.0," an event where visitors can experience a variety of cultural content such as talks from the street culture scene, live music, brand exhibitions, food, craft beer, and D.I.Y workshops all in one place, will be held for two days from June 6 to 7 at the Kimdaejung Convention Center.

In addition, the "National Firefighters Sports Festival," a gathering for firefighters from across the country, will take place from June 9 to 11 at Mudeung Stadium and other sports facilities throughout Gwangju. The "Future Industry Expo," which will present visions for future industries, will be held from June 25 to 28 at the Kimdaejung Convention Center.

The city expects a synergistic effect in revitalizing tourism and increasing accommodation demand by linking its own tourism products, such as "Boy’s Road," a themed tour product based on the novel "Human Acts" by Nobel Prize in Literature laureate Han Kang, which follows the history of democratization in Gwangju, and "Baseball Fan Trip," which combines sports and tourism. Information about the event and related tourism products can be found on the official Gwangju City culture and tourism website, Omegwangju.

Lee Seungkyu, Director of the New Vitality Promotion Headquarters, said, "This Accommodation Sale Festa will not only reduce the financial burden for tourists visiting Gwangju, but also provide practical help to the local accommodation industry and small business owners. We hope this will be an opportunity for everyone to enjoy Gwangju’s diverse food, culture, and festivals without burden."
