Emphasizing the Principle of "Zero Tolerance for Terrorism"
An "Indian Parliamentary Bipartisan High-Level Delegation" led by Sanjay Kumar Jha, a member of the Rajya Sabha, arrived in Korea on May 25.
The Embassy of India in Korea explained that this two-day visit, scheduled for May 25 and 26, is part of the Indian government's diplomatic efforts to highlight the significance of "Operation Sindhur."
"Operation Sindhur," directly referenced by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is a retaliatory measure in response to the terrorist attack that occurred in the Pahalgam region of Kashmir, India, on April 22.
India intends to reinforce its principled stance of "zero tolerance for terrorism." Amit Kumar, Indian Ambassador to Korea, also reaffirmed the importance of this issue.
On the day of their arrival, the delegation held a meeting with members of the Indian community in Korea and shared their views on Operation Sindhur. During the meeting, they explained the Pahalgam terrorist attack and India's response, emphasizing the need for corrective measures on the international stage, including within the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). In particular, they stressed that there should be no distinction between terrorists and their sponsors.
The delegation also held meetings with Korean officials. The participants included former Minister of Foreign Affairs Yoon Youngkwan, former Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Hyun, former Ambassadors to India Shin Bongkil and Lee Junkyu, Kim Gun, a member of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, and Shin Sangkyun, Director of the National Counter-Terrorism Center (Major General).
Meanwhile, the delegation is scheduled to continue meetings on May 26 with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Assembly, as well as think tanks and media representatives.
