Hapcheon County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on May 26 that it was selected as an 'Excellent County' among 18 cities and counties in the province at the 'Hope 2025 Neighborly Love Merit Award Ceremony' hosted by South Gyeongsang Province and the South Gyeongsang Community Chest of Korea, held at Hotel International Changwon. With this, the county received an institutional commendation and a banner (a flag with a string awarded to meritorious organizations) for the second consecutive year.

The South Gyeongsang Community Chest of Korea conducted a comprehensive evaluation based on six criteria, including annual fundraising amount per person, the growth rate compared to the average fundraising amount over the past three years, and the total fundraising amount over three years. Hapcheon County was recognized for its contributions to building a healthy local community through the practice of neighborly love, which led to the award.

Kim Yooncheol, the county governor, said, "Being selected as an excellent institution was made possible thanks to the active participation of citizens from all walks of life, including institutions, organizations, companies, and hometown associations, despite the difficult economic situation. I sincerely thank everyone once again for extending a warm helping hand to neighbors in need, and I will do my best to ensure that the culture of sharing and neighborly love continues to thrive."
