Gwangju Global Motors (GGM) announced on May 25 that it successfully held a 'Family Day' event, inviting employees' families in celebration of May, the month of family.
The event, which took place on May 24 at GGM's premises, was attended by approximately 230 family members of employees. 'Family Day' is a program designed to foster a family-friendly corporate culture. It aims to help employees' families create enjoyable memories at the workplace of their parents or children, while also instilling a sense of pride and belonging as members who grow and develop together with the company.
On the day of the event, families who arrived using the company shuttle bus shared lunch with employees and then enjoyed free time. Afterwards, they gathered in the company’s Sangsaeng Hall to hear a welcoming speech from CEO Yoon Monghyun, watched a company introduction video, and toured the assembly and body plant production lines where their family members work. Participants also had the opportunity to test drive the Casper electric vehicle and took a group commemorative photo in front of the Sangsaeng Stone.
Additionally, recreation activities such as a family mission relay and an OX quiz, led by a professional host, were held in Sangsaeng Hall. Attendees enjoyed performances including a talent show and a magic show, and prizes such as dining gift certificates, department store gift certificates, and red ginseng sets were awarded through a raffle. All participating families received an electric grill (for adults) and a random box (for children) as gifts.
Family members of employees who attended the event expressed, "We were deeply moved and truly proud to learn that GGM, where our parents and children work, is making significant contributions to the local economy."
CEO Yoon Monghyun stated, "Your parents and children are happily working and growing together at GGM. I will do my best to ensure that all employees can work with pride at GGM for the families who visited the company today."
A GGM representative added, "Going forward, GGM will continue to strive for diverse welfare programs and a family-friendly culture so that both employees and their families can feel proud. We will keep planning various activities to help families trust the company and feel a sense of pride together."
Meanwhile, since CEO Yoon took office in December 2023, GGM has been pursuing a management approach closely involving employees' families, such as delivering a 'Welcome Kit' containing a congratulatory gift and a thank-you letter to the families of new employees every year, which has received a positive response.
