Hyundai Construction announced on May 25 that it has signed an emergency medical support agreement with the Regional Trauma Center at Andong Hospital in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province. This is to prepare for possible emergencies at the construction site of Shin Hanul Nuclear Power Plant Units 3·4 in nearby Uljin, which Hyundai Construction is currently building. The site involves the construction of two 1,400MW nuclear power units, with up to 4,000 workers present each day. Under the agreement, a medical hotline will be established, and a specialized system has been set up to respond to severe emergencies such as trauma and cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases using a doctor helicopter. Earlier this year, Hyundai Construction also created and distributed a guideline for the use of emergency medical helicopters to all sites in order to prevent serious industrial accidents.
