SK Telecom announced that the number of subscribers who have replaced their SIM cards since the 19th has surpassed 4 million.

According to the SK Telecom Newsroom on the 25th, the company replaced SIM cards for 300,000 subscribers the previous day. On the 19th, 330,000 people replaced their SIM cards; on the 20th, 350,000; on the 21st, 360,000; on the 22nd, 310,000; and on the 23rd, 330,000, marking six consecutive days with over 300,000 replacements per day. The cumulative number of customers who have replaced their SIM cards is 4.17 million. The number of people who have reserved a SIM card replacement but have not yet completed the process is tallied at 4.82 million.
SK Telecom explained that even if subscribers do not replace or reset their SIM cards, their subscription to the SIM Protection Service remains valid. Subscribers can cancel or re-enroll in the SIM Protection Service, as well as check their subscription status, through the T World application (app).
However, for eSIMs, re-enrollment in the SIM Protection Service is required for certain devices, such as dual SIM models released before the Galaxy S24. If a subscriber who is enrolled in the SIM Protection Service moves their SIM card to a new smartphone, they must first cancel the service on the old phone, insert the SIM card into the new phone, and then proceed with the SIM device change.
