"My Heart Aches for Her Forced Silence and Seclusion"
People Power Party presidential candidate Kim Moonsoo asserted on the 24th, "The honor of former President Park Geunhye must be restored without fail."
After visiting the birthplace of the late former President Park Chunghee in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, Kim stated during his campaign rally, "I do not believe that former President Park Geunhye should have been impeached and forced to step down in such an unexpected situation."

Kim said, "This evening, I am scheduled to visit former President Park Geunhye in Dalseong, Daegu. My heart aches when I think about how she was impeached, lost her home, and now resides in Dalseong."
After being removed from office by the Constitutional Court's decision in 2017 and subsequently imprisoned, former President Park was pardoned and reinstated in 2021. However, the privileges typically accorded to former presidents have not been fully restored to her.
Kim stated, "Former President Park Chunghee and First Lady Yuk Youngsoo turned our nation into a country where all 50 million people could prosper, but it pains us deeply that they left us so suddenly. Both the father and mother lost their lives to bullets, and yet we could not even protect their daughter."
He continued, "These days, former President Park Geunhye remains silent, but how could she not have anything to say? It pains me that, despite having so much to say, she is forced to remain quiet and hidden in this reality."
