On Approval Ratings: "The Gap Between First and Second Will Narrow"
Campaign Strategy Focuses on 'Listening Mode' to Maximize Final-Stage Concentration
On Increasing Non-Legal Professional Supreme Court Justices: "Individual Lawmaker's Opinion"
Kim Minseok, Standing Co-Chair of the Democratic Party's Election Committee, stated on the 24th, "The support bases of Kim Moonsoo from the People Power Party and Lee Junseok from the Reform Party are completely different," adding, "If a single candidacy is achieved, it is more likely that votes will actually be lost."
At a press briefing that day, Kim said, "There is a high possibility that attempts will be made to unify the candidacies of Kim Moonsoo from the People Power Party and Lee Junseok from the Reform Party, or that they will actually succeed," and added, "In the end, it will be a contest between Lee Jaemyung, the 'people's candidate,' and Kim Moonsoo, the 'insurrection candidate.'"

He argued, "The support bases of the two candidates, Kim Moonsoo and Lee Junseok, are different regarding whether they defend insurrection or not, and if unification is achieved, Lee Junseok's approval rating will drop significantly due to public criticism and anger over the political collusion."
He continued, "Whether or not the unification succeeds, both candidates' approval ratings will drop compared to now," and predicted, "In reality, while they may continuously consider attempts, it is highly likely that unification will not happen."
Addressing Lee Junseok, he said, "He needs to answer questions about the so-called 'Myung Taegyun avatar theory' and the 'unification collusion theory,'" adding, "Although he talks about a third way, in reality, isn't Lee Junseok's true intention to return to the People Power Party in order to secure conservative party leadership?"
Regarding the future trend in approval ratings, he said, "I believe the gap between first and second place will narrow," and added, "Whether it becomes a close race within the margin of party support or a stable regime change will depend on the level of focus at the end." He continued, "We will maintain our original resolve to overcome insurrection and, except for the Yuldong team, restrain campaign dances, focusing on an earnest 'listening mode' to maximize concentration in the final stage of the election."
Regarding the recent controversial bill to increase the number of Supreme Court justices who are not legal professionals, he drew a line, saying, "That is an individual lawmaker's opinion, and the party does not have a unified stance." Kim explained, "Since this is an election period where we must focus on regime change, there is a general consensus within the party to approach the matter cautiously until the will of the people is clearly unified."
