Yuui Kwon Appointed as First Female Director of Key Financial Policy Division at FSC

Yuui Kwon, Director of Financial Policy Bureau, Financial Services Commission

On May 23, the Financial Services Commission announced the appointment of Yuui Kwon (48), previously Director of the Industrial Finance Division, as the new Director of the Financial Policy Division.

This marks the first time that a woman has been appointed as the head of the Financial Policy Division, which is considered the most pivotal department within the Financial Services Commission.

Director Kwon graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in economics and entered public service after passing the 45th civil service examination.

She began her public service career at the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the predecessor to both the Financial Services Commission and the Ministry of Economy and Finance. At the Financial Services Commission, she previously served as the first female principal deputy director of the Financial Policy Division. She has also held key positions as Director of Household Finance, Director of Financial Consumer Policy, and Director of Industrial Finance.

The Financial Policy Division, which she will now lead, serves as the control tower for household debt management?currently the Commission's top priority?and is the core department overseeing domestic financial policy operations.

On the same day, the Commission also appointed Jaehun Park, who passed the 46th civil service examination, as Director of the Industrial Finance Division, and Sanghun Shin as Director of the Administrative Personnel Division.

Director Park has held several positions, including Team Leader of Corporate Governance at the Financial Group Supervision Innovation Team, Presidential Secretariat, Director of Fair Market, Director of Capital Market Investigation, and Director of Administrative Personnel at the Financial Services Commission.

Director Shin has served as Director of Corporate Restructuring, Secretary to the Chairman, Director of Insurance, and Director of Digital Finance at the Financial Services Commission.
