The two organizations entered into this agreement in order to systematically analyze the workforce supply and demand base in the trade industry and to establish a long-term response system to cope with demographic changes, as the working-age population is declining due to low birth rates and aging, and labor shortages in the industrial sector are intensifying.
Going forward, they plan to promote various initiatives, including: ▲ joint surveys and research to secure foreign workers; ▲ provision of data from the foreign worker management system and joint comparative data research; and ▲ co-hosting seminars. Through these efforts, they aim to establish a collaborative system that connects data-driven analysis with on-site corporate needs, as well as conduct joint research.
The two organizations expect that by combining the Korea Employment Information Service's quantitative workforce analysis capabilities with the Korea International Trade Association's field-oriented export company network, they will be able to more precisely diagnose workforce supply and demand issues in the industrial sector and develop practical solutions.
Lee Changsoo, President of the Korea Employment Information Service, said, "Through this agreement, we will combine the expertise of both organizations to jointly establish a policy foundation and analysis system for securing the working-age population."
