On May 25, Shinhan Financial Group announced that Chairman Jin had conducted IR sessions over the course of a week, starting from the 18th, traveling through major European hubs including London in the UK, Frankfurt in Germany, and Warsaw in Poland.

This itinerary was planned to facilitate direct communication with overseas investors amid growing global economic uncertainty. The purpose was to explain Shinhan Financial Group’s strategies for enhancing corporate value and the progress of their implementation to local investors, as well as to benchmark global profit models.

In meetings with key investors, Chairman Jin explained the impact of recent international and domestic issues?such as the United States’ reciprocal tariff measures and Korea’s presidential election phase?on financial markets, and shared Shinhan Financial Group’s response strategies in detail. He specifically outlined the group’s efforts to achieve this year’s goals: improving return on equity (ROE) by 0.5 percentage points, maintaining a common equity tier 1 (CET1) ratio of at least 13.1%, and achieving a shareholder return rate of at least 42%. He emphasized that Shinhan Financial Group has been consistently fulfilling these commitments.

During his visit to Europe, Chairman Jin also held a series of meetings with Goldman Sachs executives. Together with Anthony Goodman, Co-CEO of Goldman Sachs International, and Ronan Bryne, Managing Director for the Financial Institutions Group, he exchanged views on strengthening the IB division, including asset management, and expanding synergies with the group’s WM business. He later met with Chris French, Co-Head of EMEA PWM (Private Wealth Management) at Goldman Sachs, to discuss global WM strategies, organizational management methods, and directions for expanding the global WM business.

He also visited Warsaw, Poland, where he met with representatives of Shinhan’s local subsidiary and KOTRA. Warsaw is emerging as a new market in the energy, infrastructure, and defense sectors. In these meetings, Chairman Jin gathered insights on industry trends and financial demand forecasts, laying the groundwork for exploring new global markets.

Chairman Jin stated, “Direct communication with overseas investors to clearly convey the strategies of the Korean economy and Shinhan Financial Group is also an important value-up strategy. Shinhan Financial Group will continue to build a sustainable profit base by applying the strengths of global financial institutions in a way that fits the domestic environment.”
