The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced on May 23 that they held the 'Korea Dullegil×Gyeongbuk Yeongdeok, Putty Rigging' event to support ecological restoration in areas affected by wildfires.
This event was organized to restore the forests of the Haeparang Trail sections 20 and 21 (Yeongdeok Blue Road sections 3 and 4) in Yeongdeok, Gyeongbuk, which suffered the most severe wildfire damage among the Korea Dullegil routes, and to revitalize tourism in the Yeongdeok area. More than 30 travel social networking service (SNS) influencers participated, planting saplings at Changpoli Byeolparang Park and engaging in putty rigging activities along section 21 of the Haeparang Trail.

Putty rigging is a portmanteau of fertilizer and jogging, referring to an activity where participants plant new life in the region, fertilize saplings, and trek along the trail.
Lee Sangmin, Acting Director of the National Tourism Headquarters at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "Continuous public interest is necessary for the ecological restoration and economic recovery of regions that have suffered from wildfires," adding, "The Korea Tourism Organization will support the recovery of these areas not only through the Korea Dullegil but also through various campaigns to promote tourism in wildfire-affected regions."
Yeongdeok County will run the 'Hope Connected by Travel, Yeongdeok Blooming Again' campaign until June 22. Information related to the campaign can be found on the Yeongdeok Cultural Tourism Foundation website.
