Promoting the Excellence of Changnyeong Agricultural Products
Changnyeong County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on May 28 that it recently held the "Changnyeong County New Garlic Consumption Promotion Event" at the Ulsan Nonghyup Distribution Center, in cooperation with the Changnyeong County Horticultural Cooperative Corporation and local Nonghyup branches.
This event was operated as a special exhibition for four days from May 22 to 25, focusing on the promotion and sale of new garlic from Changnyeong and a variety of local agricultural products.
Kim Jongok, Director of the Changnyeong County Agricultural Technology Center, Bang Chanseop, CEO of the Horticultural Cooperative Corporation, and others attended the event. They directly promoted and sold new garlic to consumers at the venue, making it a meaningful occasion to showcase the excellence of Changnyeong's agricultural products.
Since 2020, Changnyeong County has held promotional events every year at the Ulsan Nonghyup Distribution Center to boost consumption of garlic, its representative agricultural product. At this year's event, seven types of high-quality local agricultural products?including new garlic, peeled garlic, green chili peppers, tomatoes, water dropwort, paprika, and spiny cucumbers?were offered at prices 15 to 20 percent lower than the market rate, receiving an enthusiastic response from consumers.
The Changnyeong County Horticultural Cooperative Corporation serves as a key organization for revitalizing local distribution, contributing to increased income for local farmers and the establishment of a stable distribution network by organizing local producers and expanding sales channels.
An official from Changnyeong County stated, "We will continue to promote the superior quality of Changnyeong's agricultural products through ongoing promotional events and distribution network expansion, and we aim to create a distribution structure that satisfies both consumers and producers."
