The foundation manages a fund of approximately $1.5 billion (about 2 trillion KRW) and is headquartered in Boston, United States. Villas Dhar stated, "AI should become a form of governance that creates economic opportunities for everyone," and added, "Korea, and especially Seoul, is not only understanding AI but is also demonstrating leadership and setting best practices."

In response, Mayor Oh said, "The advancement of cutting-edge science and technology makes significant contributions to prosperity, economic development, and the creation of businesses, but what is even more important is providing benefits to the socially disadvantaged." He further proposed global cooperation, saying, "If the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation participates in 'Smart Life Week 2025' and the 'Seoul Smart City Award', both of which will be held under the theme of 'AI for the Vulnerable', it would be of great benefit to both the foundation and Seoul City."
