Number of Listed Companies in Daejeon Increases to 66...Bio Firm IntoCell Goes Public

The Daejeon Metropolitan Government announced that the number of listed companies in the region has increased to a total of 66, following the listing of IntoCell Co., Ltd., a bio-specialized company based on antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) technology, on the KOSDAQ market.


IntoCell is a new drug development partner currently collaborating with Samsung Bioepis and is recognized for its strength in developing next-generation anticancer drugs.


Along with the increase in the number of companies, the market capitalization of Daejeon-based listed companies has also grown significantly. As of May 22, 2025, the market capitalization reached 61.1903 trillion won, up approximately 106% from 29.6541 trillion won at the end of June 2022. This growth rate far exceeds the approximately 25% increase in market capitalization of the KRX300 index constituents, which consist of blue-chip companies listed on the Korea Exchange and KOSDAQ, during the same period.


Notably, four Daejeon-based companies?Alteogen (17.5 trillion won), Rainbow Robotics (5.1 trillion won), Peptron (4.9 trillion won), and LIG ChemBio (4 trillion won)?have entered the top 10 in KOSDAQ market capitalization rankings.


A city official stated, "Daejeon has the third largest number of listed companies among metropolitan cities, following Incheon (96 companies) and Busan (82 companies)," adding, "Daejeon is solidifying its position as a hub for advanced industries, focusing on its six strategic sectors: bio, robotics, aerospace, quantum, and others."
