Jeonnam Province has finalized the new provincial wide-area road name "Heunghwa-ro" for Local Route 839, which connects Jangheung and Hwasun.

"Heunghwa-ro" refers to a 12.8 km section of the total 15.03 km route that has been expanded and upgraded to four lanes, excluding sections where existing road names are already in use.

The road name was determined by combining the administrative district names of Jangheung and Hwasun. According to Jeonnam Province, the assignment of the new road name took into account feedback from the relevant counties and residents, as well as the local characteristics, place names, location, and the permanence of the road section.

Detailed information, including the road section, base numbers, starting and ending points, can be found in the official announcement on the Jeonnam Province website (Provincial News).

Meanwhile, Jeonnam Province has assigned road names to 89 provincial wide-area roads that connect two or more cities or counties, and has installed 4,500 road name signs and 6,000 base number signs as road name guidance facilities.

For road name addresses, base numbers are assigned at 20-meter intervals from the starting point to the end point, with odd numbers on the left and even numbers on the right. Building numbers are determined based on these base numbers, allowing the distance between the base number and the building to be estimated.
