On May 23, Hansol Paper announced that it had signed a business agreement with Cheonan City, Namyang Dairy Products, Dong-A Pharmaceutical, Samyook Foods, the Korea Packaging Recycling Business Cooperative, the Korea Resource Circulation Industry Certification Institute, and the Korea Circular Resource Distribution Support Center to build a collection and recycling circulation system for paper cartons.

This agreement, held at Cheonan City Hall, is a public-private partnership project aimed at creating a local circulation model that connects the entire process from the collection of paper cartons, to recycling, and to the use of recycled products, with a focus on apartment complexes in Cheonan City.

The Korea Packaging Recycling Business Cooperative and the Korea Circular Resource Distribution Support Center will produce and distribute collection nets for the separate disposal of paper cartons to approximately 200,000 households in apartment complexes in Cheonan City. Paper cartons disposed of by households will be collected by local collection companies. After being separately sorted, the collected paper cartons will be used as raw material in Hansol Paper’s paper production process and supplied to Namyang Dairy Products, Dong-A Pharmaceutical, and Samyook Foods.

In addition, the Korea Resource Circulation Industry Certification Institute plans to establish certification standards for "Excellent Recycling (GR)" for the recycled paper products produced by Hansol Paper and will actively support the company in obtaining this certification.

Han Kyungrok, CEO of Hansol Paper, said, "Amid growing concerns about the low recycling rate of paper cartons, we are pleased to join Cheonan City in building a resource circulation system. Hansol Paper will leverage its technology and expertise to increase the recycling rate of paper cartons and further enhance their value as a resource."
