Achieving an Average 83% Fulfillment Rate for All Pledge Projects in the 8th Administration
Biweekly Monitoring of Pledge Implementation and Regular Work Briefings to Seek Solutions
Mapo-gu (District Mayor Park Kangsoo) has achieved a remarkable feat by receiving the highest grade, 'SA', in the '2025 National Basic Local Government Heads' Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure Evaluation' organized by the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters.
This evaluation was conducted for 226 basic local governments nationwide, covering five areas: pledge fulfillment, achievement of 2024 goals, resident communication, web communication, and consistency.
Under the 8th popularly elected administration's vision of 'A New Mapo, A Better Mapo', Mapo-gu is promoting 37 pledge projects, divided into the areas of Communicative Mapo, Companion Mapo, Coexistence Mapo, Attractive Mapo, and Safe Mapo. As of May 2025, 25 of these projects have already been completed.
In addition, the overall pledge fulfillment rate for the 8th administration stands at an average of 83%, showing steady progress.
To ensure that all pledges are implemented without setbacks, Mapo-gu has established a meticulous management system.
The department responsible for overall pledge management checks the status of pledge implementation every two weeks. For pledges facing difficulties in implementation, a monthly work briefing is held, presided over by the deputy district mayor, to share problems and seek solutions.
Furthermore, the status of pledge implementation is disclosed in detail on the Mapo-gu Office website, and the process is managed transparently through a pledge fulfillment evaluation group composed of members from various social strata.
Additionally, Mapo-gu has established an online channel to continuously communicate with residents and gather a wide range of opinions regarding the pledges.
Park Kangsoo, Mayor of Mapo-gu, stated, "Faithfully fulfilling promises made to residents is the most fundamental responsibility," and added, "As Jeong Yak-yong emphasized in the Mokminsimseo, 'If you put your heart into it, nothing is impossible.' With sincerity, I will communicate with residents and fulfill the pledged promises to create 'A New Mapo, A Better Mapo.'"
