SK Group will hold its annual Management Strategy Meeting, one of the group's major events, on June 13 and 14. The meeting is expected to review the progress of the group's ongoing rebalancing (business restructuring) initiatives and to discuss comprehensive strategies for group-wide management issues, including the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) and measures to strengthen customer information protection.

A senior official from SK Group told reporters on May 22, after attending a meeting between the heads of the five major economic organizations and People Power Party presidential candidate Kim Moonsoo at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jung-gu, Seoul, "The Management Strategy Meeting is scheduled for the second Friday and Saturday of June."

The Management Strategy Meeting is one of SK Group's key annual events, along with the Icheon Forum in August, the CEO Seminar in October, and the Directors' Summit in November.

About 30 CEOs from major affiliates are expected to attend the meeting, including SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, SK SUPEX Council Chairman Chey Chang-won, and SK Innovation Executive Vice Chairman Chey Jae-won. As in previous years, the meeting is expected to be held at the SKMS Research Institute in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.

This year's meeting is expected to review the progress of rebalancing initiatives being pursued by each affiliate since last year and to discuss ways to expand the AI business.

In particular, in light of the recent SK Telecom hacking incident, the group is also expected to discuss ways to enhance customer value and strengthen information protection at the group level.

Previously, on May 14, SK Group launched the Information Security Innovation Special Committee, an independent professional body designed to detect and block security risks within group affiliates in advance and to strengthen security capabilities. Chairman Chey Chang-won will serve as the head of the committee, and external security experts from academia and industry have also been officially appointed as members. The committee is reportedly planning to hold its first working-level meeting next week to discuss measures to strengthen security.
