Selected as an Exemplary Case for Building Trust Between Labor and Management

Dankook University Hospital Receives Special Commendation from Central Labor Relations Commission for Dispute Resolution Efforts

Dankook University Hospital announced on May 22 that it had received a special commendation from the Central Labor Relations Commission, in recognition of its efforts to resolve disputes in collaboration with the Dankook University Medical Center branch of the Korean Health and Medical Workers' Union.

Since 2022, the hospital has aimed to improve awareness of emotional labor, fostering a culture of mutual respect between visitors and staff. In 2023, it signed an agreement on workplace grievance and fair labor-management solutions, working to establish a rational labor-management relationship and promote autonomous dispute resolution.

The hospital has also taken the lead in creating jobs for people with developmental disabilities and establishing a stable working environment for employees with disabilities.

In addition, to promote job creation for people with developmental disabilities, the hospital signed a business agreement with Cheonan City and the Chungnam branch of the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities. It has also been at the forefront of employment promotion activities, including providing education to improve awareness and creating a stable working environment for employees with disabilities.

For these achievements, Dankook University Hospital was introduced as an exemplary case at the first "3Sol Hanmadang" event hosted by the Central Labor Relations Commission. The "3Sol" refers to three solutions: fair labor-management solutions, workplace grievance solutions, and multiple union solutions.

Kim Jaeil, the hospital director, stated, "This is the result of continuous cooperation between the hospital and the union, based on mutual respect and trust," adding, "Creating a work environment where everyone is respected and can work safely will also lead to the best medical services for our patients."
