The Korea Economic Association (KEA) announced on May 22 that it held the "Happy Child Seoul Outing" event over three days starting from May 20 for single-parent families from Jeju who had never visited Seoul.

About 30 mothers and children from Aseowon (Cheongsu Social Welfare Foundation), an organization in Jeju that supports single-parent families, participated in the event. Over the course of the 3-day, 2-night trip, they enjoyed various experiences while touring major Seoul landmarks such as Gyeongbokgung Palace and N Seoul Tower.
Lim Aedeok, Director of Aseowon, said, "Many families were flying for the first time, and seeing their bright smiles made me think this outing will remain a cherished memory for a long time."
Lee Sangyun, Head of the Sustainable Growth Division at KEA, stated, "I hope this event serves as an opportunity for our society to recognize the importance of paying greater attention to filling the gaps faced by single-parent families."
KEA plans to provide a Seoul visit experience to about 30 mothers and children from Mokpo Seongmo's House, a leading support facility for at-risk pregnant women in the Jeonnam region, on May 31.
