Dongmyung University Department of Social Welfare Forms Industry-Academic Partnership with Busan Association of Community Child Centers

Dongmyung University has entered into an industry-academic partnership with the Busan Metropolitan Association of Community Child Centers to promote child welfare in the local community and to nurture talent in the field of social welfare.

The university's Department of Social Welfare announced on the 22nd that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Busan Association of Community Child Centers on the 21st, establishing a cooperative system to enhance students' adaptability to the field and their employment capabilities.

The purpose of this agreement is to mutually provide opportunities for the exchange of human and material resources in the field of child welfare, policy development, and hands-on experiential training.

The Busan Metropolitan Association of Community Child Centers is a public interest coalition of more than 210 community child centers in Busan. It supports the safe growth of children by developing care policies, improving the treatment of workers, and building a collaborative network among member organizations.

Community child centers are child welfare facilities supported by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. They operate programs for the physical, cognitive, and social development of children and adolescents who require social care.

Park Sunhee, head of the Busan branch association who attended the signing ceremony, said, "We thank Dongmyung University for joining efforts in the field of welfare for local children," and added, "We hope this collaboration will provide practical support for the healthy growth of children."

Park Sunsook, a professor at Dongmyung University, said, "Students will have expanded opportunities to gain practical field experience in the child and youth sector," and added, "Through our partnership with community child centers, we will nurture field-ready talent and actively support welfare facilities."

The Department of Social Welfare at Dongmyung University currently operates specialized educational programs aimed at training welfare professionals rooted in the local community, such as social workers and youth counselors.
