On May 22, Masan Happo District in Changwon Special City, South Gyeongsang Province, successfully concluded two weeks of intensive maintenance by carrying out the final clean-up activity of the 'Rainwater Drain Intensive Cleaning Week' in the Imhangseon Greenway area near the former Bukmasan Station site.

This initiative was launched to proactively respond to heavy summer rainfall and urban flooding. Approximately 300 people participated, including 15 local autonomous organizations, related agencies, public workers, and district officials, demonstrating collaboration between the public and private sectors. The teams focused on rainwater drains in flood-prone areas such as residential neighborhoods, main roads, and parks, removing various debris including trash, fallen leaves, and soil, and collected a total of about 15 tons.

Notably, District Chief Park Dongjin personally visited several sites during the maintenance period, joined the cleaning efforts, communicated with workers, and encouraged their hard work.

Chief Park stated, "Flood damage is a disaster that can paralyze daily life in an instant, so preventive measures are more important than anything else." He added, "This maintenance is a good example of public-private cooperation to protect the lives and property of citizens, and we will continue to strengthen the city's safety network."

Building on this initiative, Masan Happo District plans to further expand regular joint maintenance between the public and private sectors and to focus on establishing a city safety network that can actively respond to the climate crisis.
