According to a report by the Associated Press, two staff members of the Israeli embassy in Washington DC were shot and killed on the 21st (local time).
On the same day, Kristi Noem, the US Secretary of Homeland Security, announced via X (formerly Twitter) that two Israeli embassy staff members had died near the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington DC. The Associated Press also reported that the police have not yet disclosed detailed information regarding the motive for the crime.
Danny Danon, Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, criticized the shooting as "an antisemitic act of terror and a depraved act," and stated, "I am confident that US authorities will take strong action against those responsible for this crime."
