Advisory Support to Enhance Functionality of Public Architecture from the Planning Stage
Yeongam County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Woo Seunghee) appointed three private experts as public architects at the Public Development Project Group located within Yeongam Sports Complex on May 20.

According to the county on May 22, the appointment ceremony was held to enhance the quality of public architecture and improve the quality of life for county residents. At the ceremony, Kim Suhyeon, head of LAS Architects, Kwon Hyuna, professor of architecture at Mokpo National University, and Lee Chungmi, head of Jinjja Nori Architects, received their appointment letters as public architects. In accordance with the Framework Act on Architecture and other relevant laws, they will serve as part-time advisors for two years, providing consultation at least once a month.
Furthermore, the newly appointed public architects will establish a cooperative system with Lee Youngbeom, professor of architecture at Kyonggi University, who was appointed as the chief architect overseeing public architecture and urban policy in March. Together, they will provide advice to enhance functionality and aesthetic value from the planning stage of public architecture projects in Yeongam County.
Lee Myungdon, head of the Public Development Project Group, stated, "Public architecture is more than just a physical space; it is a vital infrastructure that embodies the culture and values of the region. Together with these experts, we will present beautiful public buildings that residents can use comfortably and with ease."
