The district aims to use this contest to shed new light on Jung-gu, the place where Admiral Yi Sun-sin was born, grew up, became a hero equipped with both literary and martial virtues, and formed connections with other historical figures, thereby elevating the city's status.

Previously, on April 28, the district held the "Admiral Yi Sun-sin Vision Proclamation Ceremony" at Namsangol Hanok Village, expressing its ambition to become a historical and cultural center embracing the life and spirit of Admiral Yi Sun-sin. The purpose of this contest is to redefine Jung-gu's identity together with residents as part of realizing this vision.

Kim Gilseong, head of Jung-gu District, stated, "Jung-gu is the very place where the great life of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, who saved the nation, began. Based on our historical pride, we will establish a city brand that embodies Jung-gu's unique identity and value, promote Jung-gu's value to the world, and help residents take pride in being descendants of this great hero."
