Participant Registration Opens from the 23rd

The Life Insurance Association announced on May 22 that it will host the Pacific Insurance Conference (PIC) at the Grand Hyatt Seoul from September 23 to 25, spanning three days.

The PIC is an international conference where top executives from the insurance industry in Asia and the Pacific gather to discuss management issues and future strategies for the insurance sector, as well as to explore opportunities for collaboration. Since its inception in 1963, the conference has been held biennially, rotating among countries in the Asia-Pacific region. This marks the second time Korea is hosting the event, following its first hosting in 1985.

PIC 2025 will be held under the theme "Leadership in Change: A New Leap for the Insurance Industry." The conference is organized by the Life Insurance Association and supported by major domestic and international insurance companies. The Asia Insurance Leadership Forum (AILF) will oversee operations, in close cooperation with the General Insurance Association and the International Insurance Society (IIS).

Approximately 300 executives from major Asian insurance companies, insurance associations, regulatory authorities, and asset management firms from Hong Kong, Japan, China, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and other countries are expected to attend.

PIC 2025 will open its official website and begin participant registration starting May 23.

The conference will feature in-depth discussions from the perspective of C-level executives on a wide range of topics, including growth strategies, capital management, risk and regulatory environments, digital transformation, and AI technology, focusing on key issues commonly faced by the Asian insurance industry.

This conference will introduce an "AI simultaneous interpretation system," providing real-time interpretation in four languages: Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and English.

Kim Cheolju, President of the Life Insurance Association, stated, "This event will provide Korea's insurance industry with an opportunity to expand its global network, create new growth opportunities, and demonstrate international leadership befitting the status of the Korean insurance sector."

Lee Byeongrae, President of the General Insurance Association, commented, "This PIC has been revamped to expand its scope to general insurance, evolving beyond previous forums. We hope it will become a global event led by leaders of major advanced Asian insurance companies, spearheading change and development in the insurance industry."
