Securing 11 Billion Won in Government Funding by 2030
Hoseo University announced on May 22 that it has been selected for the "Software (SW)-Oriented University" project, which is overseen by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
The SW-Oriented University project aims to foster specialized talent that meets the needs of industry and emerging technologies by innovating the overall university education system and strengthening the industry-academia cooperation ecosystem.
Hoseo University is the only institution among the 10 universities that participated in the first phase of the project from 2019 to last year to be consecutively selected for the second phase. The university will receive a total of 11 billion won in government funding through 2030.
The university plans to establish state-of-the-art educational infrastructure at its KTX campus and launch an AIT School, which will oversee education in artificial intelligence, IT, and software.
Park Geundeok, the general manager, stated, "This consecutive selection is a result of our excellent achievements and sustainable educational innovation capabilities over the past six years," adding, "We will continue to establish ourselves as a university that cultivates core talent in the fields of artificial intelligence and software."
