Gyeonggi Province to Provide Next-Generation GPU Model "H200" Free of Charge to AI Companies

The Gyeonggi Provincial Government will provide the latest high-performance computing equipment free of charge to artificial intelligence (AI) small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups.

On May 22, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government announced that it will implement the "AI High-Performance Computing Resource Support Project," which will support AI companies with high-end GPUs (graphics processing units) such as the H100, A100, and V100, as well as the next-generation "H200."

GPUs are essential high-speed computing devices for training and running AI models, and the H200 is a next-generation product that offers significantly improved computational speed and efficiency compared to previous models. The Gyeonggi Provincial Government is the first local government in the country to introduce NVIDIA's latest GPU, the "H200," for use in a cloud environment.

Furthermore, the Gyeonggi Provincial Government plans to further strengthen the scalability and sustainability of its high-performance computing infrastructure by gradually introducing the latest computing resources, such as the next-generation GPU "B200," which is even more advanced than the H200.

Companies can choose the resource they need, either a GPU or an NPU (neural processing unit). The resources will be provided in the form of credits (usage rights), which companies can use freely according to their development schedules and needs.

The Gyeonggi Provincial Government will begin recruiting participating companies next month and will fully implement the project in cooperation with the Gyeonggi Institute of Convergence Technology, the dedicated operating agency for the project.

Kim Kibyung, Director of AI at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, stated, "Providing high-performance computing resources to AI companies is like building a real ladder for their growth," adding, "We will spare no effort to support promising and innovative companies so that they can overcome the AI infrastructure gap, compete on the global stage, and lead the ecosystem."
