Hana Bank announced on the 22nd that it had signed an MOU on the 21st with major domestic banks (KB Kookmin, Nonghyup, Shinhan, Woori, IBK) to promote a joint bank identity verification service and marketing.

Certificates issued by financial institutions feature a robust multi-layered security system unique to the sector, making them the most reliable means of identity verification for users to utilize with confidence. Through this agreement, the six major banks will interconnect their previously separate identity verification services, which is expected to provide users with a safer and more convenient service.

In particular, the "Hana Certificate" service provided by Hana Bank has obtained ISMS-P certification, the highest authority in personal information protection management systems in Korea, ensuring outstanding security against customer information leakage. In addition, based on financial security technologies such as AI-based abnormal transaction detection, the certificate can prevent fraudulent use and financial damage in advance.

Hana Bank plans to first link its identity verification service with KB Kookmin Bank and Woori Bank. The platform will be opened so that other banks participating in the MOU can also join, and the scope will be expanded to include public and financial institutions as well as private companies, thereby strengthening competitiveness.

A Hana Bank official stated, "As the digitalization of finance accelerates, the importance of security is becoming more prominent. Hana Bank's identity verification service has outstanding advantages over other institutions in terms of customer information protection and reliability. This joint service among banks will be an important turning point in providing customers with safer transactions and greater convenience."

Meanwhile, the banking sector plans to use this agreement not only to expand its market share in the identity verification service market, but also to lead a paradigm shift by expanding authentication connections with various platforms.
