'First-Half Ulsan Public-Private Joint Regulation Discovery Team Meeting'
to Be Held on May 22
On May 22 at 2:00 p.m., Ulsan City will hold the first-half meeting of the 'Ulsan Metropolitan City Public-Private Joint Regulation Discovery Team' in the main building's 4th-floor medium conference room at Ulsan City Hall.
The 'Public-Private Joint Regulation Discovery Team' is a consultative body operated with the participation of citizens, businesses, experts, and the administration to identify and improve unreasonable regulations experienced in the field.
At the meeting, attended by about 20 participants including Kim Nokyung, Director of Planning and Coordination, representatives from the Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ulsan Federation of Microbusinesses, company representatives, and relevant Ulsan City departments, five regulatory improvement proposals submitted by the 'Ulsan City Public-Private Joint Regulation Discovery Team' will be adopted as agenda items. The participants will discuss their rationality, issues, and areas for improvement.
The main issues identified include: ▲Amendments to related laws to resolve the challenge of securing technical personnel at sites subject to the Integrated Environmental Management Act ▲Relaxation of standards for development activity permits ▲Expansion of the issuance system for certified pay-as-you-throw trash bags for new residents ▲Improvements to deliverables and review procedures in architectural design competitions ▲Addressing discrimination against architects caused by the lack of separate bidding by construction type in architectural design tenders.
Ulsan City plans to submit proposals for tasks requiring regulatory improvement to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in the second half of this year and will continue consultations to increase the acceptance rate by central government agencies.
A city official stated, "The Public-Private Joint Regulation Discovery Team was established to identify and promptly improve regulations that hinder business activities and inconvenience citizens in their daily lives," adding, "We will continue to do our best to uncover hidden regulations and resolve regulatory difficulties that impede business economic activities and citizens' everyday lives."
Last year, the Ulsan City Public-Private Joint Regulation Discovery Team identified a total of 11 improvement tasks, of which the city accepted one internally and submitted eight to central government ministries.
As a result of the central government review, the team received a 'partially accepted' response regarding the relaxation of domestic shared accommodation registration standards.
