Hecto Group announced on May 22 that it will hold an AI competition linked to recruitment in order to discover outstanding talent in artificial intelligence (AI).
Hecto Group plans to secure talent with the capability to implement automation of data processing and advancement of AI modeling environments through the 2025 Hecto Recruitment AI Competition, "HAI! Hecto AI Challenge," for the first half of 2025.
This competition, which focuses on developing an AI model for vehicle type classification based on used car images, is open to everyone interested in AI, from high school students to the general public. Participants may compete individually or in teams of up to three members. The competition closes at 9:59 a.m. on June 16. Code and presentation submissions must be made between noon on June 16 and 10:00 a.m. on June 19, after the competition ends.
Hecto Group will select five teams through code verification and a final presentation evaluation, based on criteria such as model performance, data utilization, and applicability. The offline presentation evaluation and awards ceremony are scheduled for July 4. The total prize pool is 26 million won, with 10 million won awarded to the first-place team. Winners will be granted exemptions from the document screening and first-round interview stages when applying for positions at Hecto Group.
The competition is hosted by Hecto Group and organized by the comprehensive AI platform Dacon. More detailed information about the competition can be found on the Hecto Group and Dacon websites.
A Hecto Group representative stated, "We hope that participants with innovative ideas and a spirit of challenge will fully demonstrate their abilities through this competition," and added, "We plan to continue hosting AI challenges to discover AI talent with high potential."
Meanwhile, Hecto Group operates businesses in IT, fintech, and platforms, and is focusing on nurturing AI talent as well as strengthening its own AI capabilities. The group has established and operates AI infrastructure through its dedicated "HAI Headquarters," which leads AI technology across the entire group.
