Seongdong-gu Receives Minister of the Interior and Safety Award in "Civil Service Evaluation"... Recognized as Outstanding Institution for 8 Consecutive Years

Seongdong-gu in Seoul (District Mayor Jung Wonoh) announced that it received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award in the "2024 Civil Service Evaluation," which was jointly conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission on May 13.

The "Civil Service Evaluation" is a system that comprehensively assesses 20 indicators across five categories for administrative agencies: civil service administration strategy and system, operation of civil service systems, handling of complaints through the e-People portal, grievance resolution, and civil service satisfaction. In 2024, a total of 307 administrative agencies nationwide were evaluated.

As a result of the evaluation, the district has been selected as an "Outstanding Institution" for eight consecutive years, from the first evaluation in 2017 through 2024, achieving a record as the first and only institution in the country to do so.

Seongdong-gu has continued its unprecedented streak of government awards related to civil service for eight consecutive years: two Presidential Citations (2017, 2019), three Prime Minister Citations (2020, 2021, 2023), and three Minister of the Interior and Safety Citations (2018, 2022, 2024).

Notably, initiatives such as the establishment of a "Rapid Reservation System," which enables all public service reservations in one place, and the development of a "Non-face-to-face Qualification Verification Service," which allows residents to instantly check and apply for benefits and eligibility online without submitting documents through administrative information sharing, were recognized as exemplary improvements in civil service administration for their creativity, effort, and effectiveness.

Additionally, the district mayor's active engagement in civil service administration, exemplified by initiatives such as "Dialogue Day with the District Mayor," "District Mayor-Parents Meeting," and "District Mayor Text Message Civil Service," consistently received high marks, earning perfect scores in the relevant evaluation category.

Jung Wonoh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "This award is the result of all our staff working together with a unified commitment to improving civil service convenience," and added, "We will continue our efforts to provide the highest level of civil service that residents can truly experience."
