Mapo District Holds Completion Ceremony for 'Park for All' Yanghwa Children's Park Improvement Project

Mapo District Holds Completion Ceremony for 'Park for All' Yanghwa Children's Park Improvement Project

Mapo District (District Mayor Park Kangsu) held the 'Yanghwa Children's Park Improvement Project Completion Ceremony' at 3:00 p.m. on May 21 at Yanghwa Children's Park (394-1, Hapjeong-dong).

Yanghwa Children's Park is located near Hapjeong Station, making it highly accessible, and is close to Yanghwajin Historical and Cultural Park and Hangang Park. As a result, it is a popular urban retreat frequently visited by many people.

In response, Mapo District renovated Yanghwa Children's Park, going beyond simple facility repairs to redesign the space from the planning stage under the concept of a 'park for all generations,' ensuring that people of all ages could enjoy it together.

In addition to safe and diverse playground equipment for children, the district newly installed a circular track, shade structures, and exercise equipment that everyone can enjoy together.

Furthermore, a variety of flowering trees that bloom throughout the four seasons were planted, further enhancing the park's appeal as a famous cherry blossom spot in spring.

Approximately 50 people attended the ceremony, including Park Kangsu, Mayor of Mapo District, Baek Namhwan, Chairman of the Mapo District Council, local residents, and heads of professional organizations. The event began with a progress report from the head of the Parks and Green Spaces Division, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, commemorative photo session, and a tour of Yanghwa Children's Park.

Park Kangsu, Mayor of Mapo District, stated, "It is very meaningful to present a park for children and families during Family Month in May. I hope many people will visit the park often and create many happy memories."

Mapo District plans to continue its efforts to create community-based parks that serve as daily retreats and places of cherished memories for residents.
