Heo Kyungyoung, honorary representative of the National Revolutionary Party, who is accused of fraud, violation of the Political Funds Act, and quasi-forcible molestation, requested the court to review the validity of his detention. However, the court rejected his request. As a result, Heo will remain in custody.

On May 21, around 3 p.m., the Uijeongbu District Court held a detention validity review for Heo and dismissed his request, stating, "There is no reason to grant the request."

A detention validity review is a procedure in which a detained suspect asks the court to reassess the legality of their detention. If the court accepts the request, the investigative authorities must release the suspect.

Previously, Heo was under police investigation for allegedly operating the religious facility "Haneulgung," selling spiritual products at high prices by claiming they possessed spiritual energy, and inappropriately touching female followers under the pretext of counseling. On May 16, the court issued a detention warrant for Heo, citing concerns about the destruction of evidence.
