Set to Compete in Charles Schwab Challenge in Home State of Texas
Riding Momentum from Back-to-Back Wins at The CJ Cup and PGA Championship
With Many Top-Ranked Players Absent, Aims for First-Ever Three Consecutive Victories
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is once again chasing another record.
For the first time since turning professional, he is aiming to win three consecutive PGA Tour events. On May 22 (local time), he will compete in the Charles Schwab Challenge (total prize money of $9.5 million) at Colonial Country Club (par 70, 7,289 yards) in Fort Worth, Texas, USA.

Scheffler's recent form over the last five tournaments has been remarkable. He has claimed two victories and one runner-up finish, placing in the top 10 at all five events. Earlier this month, he secured back-to-back wins at The CJ Cup Byron Nelson and the 107th PGA Championship, the season's second major. If Scheffler wins this week, it will mark the first time in his career that he has won three consecutive events in which he has competed. Previously, Scheffler achieved back-to-back tournament wins once in 2022 and three times in 2024.
Returning to his home state is a welcome advantage. Having grown up in Dallas, Texas, and still residing there, Scheffler actively participates in tournaments held in Texas. He also has a strong track record at Colonial Country Club, the venue for this week's event, having finished tied for second, tied for third, and tied for second in the last three tournaments held at this course.
There is another favorable factor. Since this is not a Signature Event but a regular tournament, many star players are absent. Among the world’s top 10, only Scheffler and world No. 7 Hideki Matsuyama of Japan are competing. Representing Korea are Kim Siwoo and Kim Joohyung. Kim Siwoo finished tied for eighth at last week’s PGA Championship, marking his first career top-10 finish at a major tournament.
