Damyang County (Governor Jeong Cheolwon) announced on the 21st that it is operating the "Memorial Photo Studio" program in the "Damyang Memory Alley" area, capturing memories with elderly residents from the Dementia Safe Village.

This program began on the 19th and will continue on the 22nd and 23rd, taking place three times in total for elderly residents of the Dementia Safe Villages in Geumseong-myeon, Goseo-myeon, and Changpyeong-myeon. The "Jukhyang Photo Club," a group of Damyang County officials, is participating as volunteers to document the elderly participants through photographs.

The elderly participants wore school uniforms, reminiscing about their school days, and shared familiar scenes and emotions from the past. The photos capturing these moments will be framed and presented to the participants, and will also be exhibited at the Damyang Culture Center in October to mark Dementia Awareness Day.

A county official said, "We hope this time to recall memories and share emotions will be a great comfort to the elderly," adding, "We will continue to do our best to create a dementia-friendly environment in collaboration with the local community."
