Lee Jae Myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, expressed his distrust of the media on May 21 and conveyed his intention to communicate through social networking services (SNS).

During a YouTube live broadcast held on a bus en route to a campaign rally in Incheon on this day, Lee said, "Would I have survived if I had not communicated directly with the people through SNS?" He added, "In the past, I would have been completely destroyed by the media's distortions and fake information."


He also argued, "Politicians must communicate directly with the people. If they do not, their true intentions will be distorted by the media."

Lee also referred to SNS as "my lifeline."


Lee announced that if elected, he would appoint a Secretary for Public Conflict Coordination in the presidential office to handle public petitions. He introduced the public conflict coordinator system he had implemented during his tenure as mayor of Seongnam and stated, "I intend to establish a Secretary for Public Conflict Coordination in the presidential office."
