As Memorial Month approaches, a bowl of Samgyetang carefully prepared by high school students in Daegu delivered heartfelt warmth to national merit recipients.
The Daegu Regional Office of Veterans Affairs (Director Kim Jongsul) announced on May 21 that it recently held a Samgyetang sharing volunteer activity for national merit recipients at the Daegu Disabled Veterans Welfare Center, together with about 20 students from the military specialization class of Sangseo High School.

This event was organized as part of a youth veterans experience program aimed at expressing gratitude to those who have sacrificed and devoted themselves for the nation. The students participated directly from early morning, preparing ingredients and cooking to make Samgyetang with great care.
One student who took part in the event said, "Serving Samgyetang directly to national merit recipients was a valuable opportunity to truly appreciate their noble dedication. I hope our gratitude is conveyed well through each bowl of Samgyetang."
Kim Jongsul, Director of the Daegu Regional Office of Veterans Affairs, stated, "I was deeply impressed to see the next generation understanding the value of veterans and putting their respect into action. We will continue to promote veterans culture activities that bring together people from various generations."
The Daegu Veterans Affairs Office plans to continue experiential veterans programs in cooperation with local educational institutions, encouraging direct participation from youth.
