Solar Lanterns Made by Elementary Students
A Hands-On Giving Experience for Children
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Hanul Nuclear Headquarters held a "Solar Lantern Making" donation event on May 17, in collaboration with the Milal Welfare Foundation, for elementary school students participating in the 1st Hanul Sangko Cultural Festival.
The event was organized to help participants experience the meaning and value of giving. More than 330 elementary students and parents took part, making a total of 170 solar lanterns, which are scheduled to be delivered to energy-poor countries in Africa.
A parent who participated in the donation event said, "I have always practiced small acts of giving, but it was meaningful for my child to have the opportunity to learn about and practice the value of giving together with friends. My child was also happy to know that the lantern they made would be delivered to friends in Africa, and I am grateful to Hanul Headquarters for providing this opportunity."
Lee Seyong, Head of Hanul Headquarters, stated, "I believe this event served as an opportunity to show children that donation is not only about financial support, but also about coming together with small acts of sincerity and effort to participate in meaningful activities. We will continue to provide opportunities for everyone to naturally learn and practice the value of sharing."
