The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced on May 21 that they have secured the hosting rights for the "2026 Virtuoso Symposium," the flagship event of Virtuoso, the world's largest luxury travel network.
Virtuoso is a luxury travel network with over 1,200 travel agencies and more than 20,000 travel advisors across 54 countries worldwide. It also partners with more than 2,300 hotels, resorts, cruise lines, and airlines. The annual transaction volume generated through luxury travel services provided by Virtuoso reaches between $28 billion and $32 billion.
The symposium, which has been secured this time, will take place in Seoul from April 15 to 19 next year, bringing together representatives from around 400 luxury travel agencies and related companies to discuss key issues in the global tourism industry. The Korea Tourism Organization plans to offer symposium participants a variety of experiences in Korean culture, arts, and gastronomy, aiming to firmly establish Korea as a premier destination for luxury travel.
Jennifer Campbell, Senior Vice President of Virtuoso, emphasized, "Among the various candidate cities, Seoul stands out as a place where tradition and sophisticated urban culture coexist harmoniously, showcasing the future of luxury travel. In particular, the unique and immersive travel experiences available in Korea are values that the global luxury travel industry must pay close attention to."
Lee Younggeun, Director of International Marketing Support at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "This symposium, secured through collaboration between the Korea Tourism Organization and the travel industry, will serve as a clear opportunity to solidify the brand value of Korea's luxury tourism in the global market. We will not only focus on Seoul but also actively introduce luxury tourism content from other regions, aiming to attract high-value tourists and generate positive ripple effects for both the tourism industry and local economies."
